Frank Heyworth (European Center for Modern Languages of the Council of Europe) Plurilingual education - a coherent approach to all the languages in the school. The Council of Europe has created a platform for plurilingual education, which seeks to identify good practice in having a whole school approach to all the languages present in the school - the languages the children speak, the language(s) of schooling, the language of schooling as a subject (French in Geneva, for example), the foreign and second languages taught, as well as the specific languages of mathematics, the sciences and the humanities. There will be an overview of this work in the presentation, followed by discussion of what aspects would be relevant in private schools here.
